Instructor Training
If you are interested in qualifying as a motorcycle instructor then our fully comprehensive training course can provide all the material & tuition you need.
Before you begin as a motorcycle instructor you must have held a full motorcycle licence for a minimum of three years & be aged 21 or over. You must give details of any motoring or non motoring offences acquired within the last four years & have no more than six penalty points on your licence.
Instructors are examined in two stages at the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) testing establishment, Cardington, Bedfordshire. During the first stage, candidates are assessed on both their ability to train students as well as their capability to train other individuals as instructors. The examination takes place over two days after which time successful candidates will be qualified to teach students up to Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) level & be able to start their own DSA approved training school.
Once candidates have passed the first stage, they are able to return to Cardington to be assessed as a Direct Access instructor. This stage takes half a day & the successful candidates will then be able to train pupils on any size machine & provide their training through to their practical motorcycle test.
Our courses are individually structured around your other commitments so whether you are looking for intensive training or tuition that will fit in around other employment, we have a package that will suit you. Our instructor courses consist of both theory & practical training that will see you supported through both stages of the Cardington assessment.
