Gaining your motorcycle licence could be quicker and easier than you think. We have courses for all levels of trainees and with one of our intensive courses you could go from never having ridden a motorcycle to obtaining your full motorcycle licence in less than a week!
This is the starting point for anyone wanting to ride a moped or motorcycle. The course is not a test or an exam but an opportunity to learn all the techniques of riding a motorcycle or moped in a safe environment under the close supervision of your instructor. The first elements will be conducted off road at our fully equipped training site based at Thruxton Race Circuit. Here you will be taught all the basic skills required to ride a motorcycle or moped including motorcycle control, gear changing and roadcraft, in a friendly, relaxed, and encouraging atmosphere.
Once trainees are confident on the motorcycle or moped they will be taken out by the instructor for a minimum two hour road ride.
Trainees will be continually assessed by the instructor and awarded their Certificate in Basic Training on successful completion of the one day course.
A Certificate in Basic Training is valid for a period of two years and allows 16 year olds to ride a moped or motorcycle with a maximum engine size of 50cc, and 17 year olds and above to ride up to a 125cc machine. It is also the first step to gaining your full motorcycle licence...
If you are under 21 years of age and want to ride a motorcycle you can undertake an accelerated access course on a 125cc motorcycle. As well as successful completion of your CBT, you will also need to pass your motorcycle theory test. We will be happy to arrange your theory test for you and have course packages available that include both your theory and CBT as well as training to gain your motorcycle licence.
Your Accelerated Access Course training will cover all aspects of the test routes and manoeuvres required.
Successfully passing your motorcycle test at the end of the course will enable you to ride any motorcycle of any engine size but with a power restriction of 33bhp. After you have held your licence for a period of two years it will automatically mature into a full motorcycle licence, allowing you to ride any size motorcycle unrestricted.
If you are 21 years of age or above and want to ride a motorcycle you can undertake a direct access course on a 500cc motorcycle. As well as successful completion of your CBT, you will also need to pass your motorcycle theory test. We will be happy to arrange your theory test for you and have course packages available that include both your theory and CBT as well as training to gain your full motorcycle licence.
Your Direct Access Course training will cover all aspects of test routes and manoeuvres required.
Successfully passing your motorcycle test at the end of the course will enable you to ride any motorcycle of any engine size without restriction.
Our comprehensive Accelerated Access and DAS packages will ensure you receive full training on all the elements required to enable you to successfully pass your motorcycle test. However, there are many useful skills that do not form part of the restricted access or DAS syllabus and these include motorway riding, cornering, and filtering through traffic. We provide training that can be undertaken on your own motorcycle, helping you familiarise yourself with a new or larger machine. The valuable full or half day course aims to introduce you to as many new situations and skills as possible and increase your confidence on the motorcycle.
